How to cancel a Pressy

Cancelling is one decision, made on the Pressy's own Cancel page or from its row on the Billing screen — both do the same thing. Nothing is destroyed on the day you press it.

What happens, and when

1. Billing stops renewing. You are never charged again for this Pressy.
2. The site stays live until the end of the period you have already paid for. The screen names the exact date.
3. Then it goes offline, and everything — files, database, backups — is kept for another 37 days.
4. After that it is deleted for good.

You can undo the cancellation at any point before the end date, from the Billing screen or the Pressy's Overview.

If you want the money rather than the days

Within 30 days of your first payment you can ask for your money back — the whole amount, not just the last month. The request is on the Cancel screen, and still there on a cancelled Pressy's Overview. A refund takes the site offline in exchange, so take your copy first.

Cancelling a MiniPressy

A MiniPressy has no subscription, so its Cancel page asks one question: when. Keep it restorable for 7 days, or delete it now. Either way there is nothing to refund, and your free slot comes back immediately — you can create another straight away.

Take your backups first

Backups are deleted with the Pressy at the end. If there is any chance you will want the site later, download a copy before you cancel — files and database, in a format any WordPress host accepts.

If it is about the cost

Changing size is a smaller decision than cancelling and takes about a minute. You can move memory, vCPU and storage independently, on any day — see changing size. The Cancel screen links to it directly, above the cancel button.

Closing the whole account

Cancelling ends one Pressy. Deleting the account ends all of them — the button is on the account page once every Pressy is cancelled, with a seven-day undo. See your account.
