Built by someone who's been on both sides of the ticket
15+ years building websites, 12 on WordPress, and a paying customer at every major host along the way. Plus time on the inside, as a Customer Success Manager and then a Shared Hosting Product Lead at a domain registrar company.

Three decisions the rest of the industry made differently
Isolation
One site per container
Shared hosting works until a neighbour has a good day. Your Pressy has its own memory, CPU and database, so another site's traffic cannot use the resources you bought.
Pricing
No intro rate to expire
An intro price is a loan you repay in year two. We publish one price, include VAT in it, and renew at it for as long as you keep the same size and billing term. Sizing up is billed for the days you use; sizing down waits for the period to end.
Packaging
Sizes, not permission levels
Backups, staging, SSL, malware protection, SSH and support are on every plan. What changes between tiers is memory, CPU and storage, which are the only things that actually cost us more.
What managed covers
Built for someone responsible for one WordPress site that has to stay up, and for a freelancer running a few of them, each on its own bill. The word means different things at different hosts, so here is exactly what ours means.
We look after
- The container, HTTPS and your pressy.site address, from the first minute
- WordPress minor and security auto-updates, switched on when your site is built. Core updates you start from the dashboard use a new or recent backup, and we attempt a restore if the health check fails
- Weekly backups kept 30 days, free restores, and a download of the whole site
- Staging, malware scanning, a web application firewall and the status page
- Email support from the people who run the platform
Not part of managed
- Your theme, plugins and content, and their updates. They are yours, with per-item auto-update toggles to hand the routine to WordPress.
- Daily backups or a recovery-time promise. One backup runs weekly, you can take one yourself up to once an hour, and a core update started from the dashboard uses a new or recent backup. WordPress' own auto-updates run on its schedule.
- Cleaning an infected site. Scanning tells you what it found; the fix is yours or your developer's.
- A response-time or uptime guarantee. We publish neither. The status page shows an incident as it happens, and a person reads every support message.
- Email hosting, ever. Domains are sold, but as a separate purchase with the renewal price beside the first year's.

What we are not
Stated as decisions, because that is what they are. If one of these is a dealbreaker, better to find out on this page than in month two.
- We do not host email
- Deliverability is a full-time product and doing it badly is worse than not doing it. We point you at providers who treat it that way, and we help you point the records.
- We have no phone line
- Written support, from the people who run the platform, with your account's history attached. We do not publish a response time, and there is no retention script.
- We are young
- Fewer years of uptime history than the incumbents, and no wall of reviews to point at. What we offer instead is 30 days money-back and an export that takes one click.
- We are not the cheapest
- Shared hosting starts lower, and it starts lower because your site sits with a hundred others. That is the trade we decided not to make, and it is the whole product.
