Comparison
PressyPress vs DreamHost
Both are honest about what they are. Theirs is a lot of shared hosting for very little money on a long term; ours is one isolated container at a price that does not move.
Short version
DreamHost is cheaper than us and gives you far more sites and storage. PressyPress is the better answer if you want one site in its own container with staging on the plan you bought, and a price that does not ask for four years to look good.
DreamHost figures are their own published list prices, read off their site on 1 September 2026. We have no affiliation with them, and product names belong to their owners.
Where DreamHost is the better answer
If one of these is your situation, we would rather you went there than churned out of here in month three.
A great deal of hosting for the money
25 websites, 25 GB of NVMe and unmetered bandwidth for €7.99 on renewal is more than we give at €12, and their intro is €1.99. On volume per euro they win.
Employee-owned, and independent for a long time
A long history of running their own infrastructure without being absorbed into a hosting conglomerate. That independence is worth something and we cannot claim it yet.
Daily backups on the entry plan
Automated daily backups where ours are weekly plus one before every update.

Which one fits you
Pick PressyPress if
- You have one site that matters and a budget that should not surprise you.
- You want every feature on the plan you can afford, not the plan above it.
- Your traffic moves, and you would rather size memory than buy the next bundle.
- You want the renewal price in writing before you sign up.
- You are in Europe and want VAT-inclusive prices and European data centres.
Pick DreamHost if
- You want many sites and a lot of storage for very little money.
- A four-year commitment suits how you plan.
- Employee ownership and independence matter to you.
- You do not need staging, or you would buy DreamPress for it.
Trying us without stranding yourself
Your site keeps serving visitors wherever it is now. Nothing happens to it until you point the domain, and that is your move to make.
- 30 days money-back
- If it is not right, ask within the window and we return what you paid.
- Staging on every plan
- Build the copy and click through it on a real URL before anything public changes.
- An export that takes one click
- Everything over SFTP, or as one archive. Your database and your media, whenever you want them.
- The transfer code, one click away
- If we registered your domain, the code to take it elsewhere is on the screen. We do not hold it.
