How to create a Pressy

A Pressy is one WordPress site in its own container, with its own memory, vCPU and storage, and its own subscription. Creating one is five steps, and the site is live about a minute after you pay.

You can leave the wizard at any point and come back — the draft is kept.

The five steps

1. Address — pick your pressy.site address. It is checked as you type, and it is yours from the site's first minute, so you can build before a domain is connected or even bought.
2. Stack — either start from a Stack, or choose Pick a plan and size it and set the three numbers yourself. There are twelve Stacks, one per kind of site; each picks a size that suits that workload and brings a theme and up to five plugins.
3. Size — the memory tier, extra vCPU, extra storage, and the billing term. Every number is adjustable under every preset, and the price updates as you move them.
4. Theme & plugins — search the WordPress directory for one theme and up to five plugins. A Stack fills this in for you and everything it chose is yours to change here.
5. Review & pay — the whole thing priced, then Stripe's own payment page.

Paying happens on Stripe, not here

The Pay and create button hands you to Stripe's hosted checkout. Nothing is charged and nothing is built until that payment succeeds — including 3-D Secure, where your bank asks and the Pressy waits.

Your email address has to be confirmed before this step, and only this step. The rest of the wizard is open to an unverified account, so you can choose everything first and click one link in your inbox at the end.

What the build does

Five steps, shown live rather than behind a spinner:

HTTPS is a verified step, not an assumption — the build waits for the certificate to exist rather than reporting success and leaving you to discover otherwise.

If a Stack's plugin cannot be installed, the build finishes anyway and tells you which one didn't make it. A working site with four plugins beats no site.

You do not have to watch it. The build carries on if you close the tab, and the dashboard shows its progress wherever you are.
