How to edit a file

The Files screen in your dashboard browses your site's folder, uploads and downloads files, and edits them in place. For a one-file change like wp-config.php or .htaccess, it replaces an FTP client entirely.

Edit and save

1. Open your Pressy and go to Files.
2. Browse to the file. WordPress lives in public_html.
3. Open the file and press Edit.
4. Make your change and save. It is live immediately.

Before touching wp-config.php or .htaccess

One wrong character in either can take the whole site down, so take a backup first. If the site goes white after a save, put back what you changed — see fixing a white screen.
