How to connect your domain

1. Open your Pressy and go to Domains in the sidebar.
2. Type your domain without www or https — just example.com.
3. Press Connect domain.
4. Copy the two records shown and add them at your DNS provider.
5. Wait. The screen watches for them and issues HTTPS on its own.

The www row is optional: your domain goes live on the bare name alone, and the second record only matters if you want www.example.com to work too.

Where the records go

At whoever answers DNS for the domain, which is not always where you bought it. If the domain has ever been put behind Cloudflare, or had its nameservers changed, the records go at that new place.

The Domains screen detects your provider and links straight to it. Look for DNS, Name servers or Advanced DNS in their panel.

Where your provider supports it, the screen offers to set both records up automatically — you approve it at their site, we never see your password, and nothing else in your DNS is touched.

The record type nobody can find

The record for the bare domain has a different name at every provider. Look for ALIAS, ANAME, or CNAME flattening.

On Cloudflare, just add a CNAME on the bare domain — it flattens it for you.

If your provider set a TTL, use 300 while you are moving, so changes show up faster.

Then HTTPS happens on its own

Once the domain resolves here, a Let's Encrypt certificate is issued and renewed automatically. Nothing to buy, upload or remember.

It cannot happen before the domain resolves — issuance works by fetching a challenge over the domain itself.

Make it your main address

Once it is live, press Make this my main address. Every other address on the Pressy then redirects to it, including your pressy.site one, which is what stops search engines finding two copies of your site.
