Because unlimited with no figure behind it is a promise nobody intends to keep. Ours is written down, and crossing it starts a conversation with a person rather than an automatic invoice.
The limits you do have are visible
Memory, CPU, storage, disk IOPS and processes are printed per plan on the pricing page, and measured live on your dashboard against those same figures. You get to see a ceiling coming.
The specifics

- Not on traffic, not on storage, not on page views. Every limit on a Pressy is a ceiling rather than a meter, which is the difference between a plan and a tab.

- We do not know how many you had and we have no reason to want to. What your resources can serve is what your resources can serve.
- Need more room? Change one number
- Memory, vCPU and storage are priced separately and each changes on any day, pro-rated. A busy month is a reason to add a gigabyte, not to move up two tiers.
- Your neighbours can't spend it
- One WordPress site per container, with its own resources. The spike next door is next door's problem, which is the one thing shared hosting can never promise you.
The questions people ask
Is bandwidth really unlimited?
No, and we will not use that word. It is unmetered, which is a different claim: nothing counts your traffic into a bill. There is a fair-usage figure, it is published, and ordinary sites do not come near it.
What happens if I go past fair usage?
We talk to you. It is a conversation about what your site is doing and what it needs, and it starts with an email from a person rather than a charge on your card.
Do you count page views or visitors?
No. There is no visit tier here, so there is no number for us to police. Your analytics can count them if you want them counted.
